One Frame

One photo. One week. Words only.
seed: "A slow social network where you can only post one photo per week, there are no l…"

The Pitch

One Frame is a mobile app where you get exactly one upload slot per week — a single photograph, shared without filters, follower counts, or like buttons, visible only to a small circle of people you have personally invited. When someone in your circle responds to your photo, they must write at least one complete sentence, turning every reaction into a tiny letter rather than a reflexive double-tap. Your feed never scrolls infinitely — it shows only this week's single image from each person you follow, then stops, leaving space for you to actually look. At the end of each year, One Frame compiles your 52 photographs into a printed hardcover book delivered to your door, transforming a year of quiet presence into something you can hold.

For Whom

🧘 Maya, 34, a UX designer in Bristol who deleted Instagram eight months ago after realising she was choosing what to photograph based on what would perform rather than what moved her, and now stores her favourite images in a private Notes folder she shares with nobody.

Core Features

  • Weekly upload slot that opens every Monday at midnight and locks after one photo is submitted, with no option to delete or replace until the following week
  • Written-sentence reply box requiring a minimum of 12 words before submission, replacing all emoji reactions, likes, and tap-based responses entirely
  • Mutual-only feed showing exclusively people who have both connected and posted their own photo that week, hiding any account that has gone silent
  • Zero visible counters anywhere in the app — no follower numbers, view counts, reply tallies, or streak indicators on any screen
  • Annual 52-photo printed book generated automatically from the year's uploads, orderable in-app with a hardcover option and a personal note page
  • Gifted membership flow allowing one user to pay a subscription on behalf of a named person, delivered as a physical card with a handwritten-style invite code
  • Quiet Hours setting that delays incoming reply notifications into a single daily digest, preventing the compulsive checking loop the product is designed to break
